Abstract

We aim to analyze two films whose stories are told entirely through desktops: the short film The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger, directed by Joe Swanberg and featured in the anthology film V/H/S, released in 2012; and the film Face 2 Face, directed by Matt Toronto and released in 2016. Through this analysis, we seek to understand the remediations present in each work and how the digital world and virtual relationships are portrayed. The analysis methodology is based in David Bordwell's (2007) poetics of cinema.

Murilo Bronzeri, Universidade Anhembi Morumbi

Doutorando em Comunicação pela UNIP, com bolsa CAPES, sob orientação da Prof. Dr. Laura Loguercio Cánepa. Mestre em Comunicação Audiovisual pelo PPGCOM-UAM, com bolsa CAPES, sob orientação do Prof. Dr. Fábio Raddi Uchôa. Integrante do grupo de pesquisa "CineArte - Cinema, análise fílmica e experiência intelectual", coordenado pelo Prof. Dr. Fábio Raddi Uchôa, vinculado ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (PPGCOM/UAM). Graduado em Rádio, TV e Internet, com distinção acadêmica Magna Cum Laude, pela Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (2020), tendo ganhado mérito por desempenho acadêmico. Durante a graduação, participou da Iniciação Científica, realizando a pesquisa "Investigações audiovisuais na quarentena: o Pink Umbrellas Art Residency como proposta artística alternativa em meio ao isolamento social", sob a orientação da Profa. Dra. Tatiana Giovannone Travisani.
